What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I just got my vehicle back and the air bag light on the passenger side keeps coming on. Something is not right with this airbag.
While stopped in the road waiting for another car. With foot on brake, the car suddenly goes full throttle. Driver has both feet applied on the brake and the car still moves forward burning rubber, and then after a few seconds it goes back to idle.
The first problem was the car going into "fail safe engine mode" which means the vehicle would not start whatsoever for some unknown reason. Took it to a repair facility and said it was a linear switch in the j gate shift console. $700.00 and three months later the same problem persist.
The zenon headlights flicker and sometimes go out. Restarting the car solves the problem but it recurs after a few minutes. Several inspections by dealer resulted in no repair as they said they could not make the problem occur.
Specifically, vehicle engine will stutter as if about to stall, which is most noticeable within the first 30 minutes after start up, but persists in varying degrees at all times, especially when idling. Problem is progressively worsening.
I lost power as the engine went to idle speed and an "engine fault" message alerted me that there was a problem. Fortunately, I was able to make it to the shoulder and creep down an exit, where I was able to find a service station.
