I am submitting this complaint regarding repeated power steering failures involving our 2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport SE, which have raised serious concerns about the safety of this vehicle and the risk posed to my family. On November 18, 2025, our vehicle was involved in a collision with a deer.
The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and it was determined that the software update needed to be performed.
COMPONENT: Driver-front flexible brake hose (service brake hydraulic system), and the brake fluid level warning system. WHAT HAPPENED: While my daughter was driving at approximately 25 mph and braking normally, the brake pedal sank progressively to the floor over about five seconds.
Approximately five months after the factory warranty expired, at around 44,000 miles, the transmission began slipping unexpectedly, and the vehicle would not accelerate above roughly 25–35 mph. This occurred while driving, creating an unsafe condition.
