What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The air bags failed to deploy. The contact struck her head on the front driver's side window and steering wheel, sustaining injuries to the head, back, shoulder, neck, and knee.
The vehicle failed to stop. Emergency Braking failed and I was unable to manually depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The vehicle electronics have intermittently have failed, turning everything off in the vehicle including the instrument panel at different times.
Driver was knocked down and fell to ground and Vehicle ran over her legs, coming to a stop with the rear Driver side tire on her leg.
2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV brake-by-wire failure during a downhill U-turn at 100% battery state of charge. Pedal went completely soft to the floor, unable to stop, causing a crash.
There were no airbag warning lights or system alerts illuminated prior to the collision. A police report was filed for this incident. I was not injured; however, the other driver sustained injuries. Given the severity of the frontal impact and the resulting damage, I believe the airbags should have deployed.
I tried to put down a window but all dash lights, etc were off and car was not running. I pushed the "start button" dash lights came on, could roll down windows, etc... and the car even starts and runs now.
