Gas tank leaks. Underneath the gas tank. Very dangerous!
My 2000 suzuki intruder 1500lc jumps out of 4th gear when accelerating. It has done it numerous times. This is dangerous when passing particularly. Several other people on the suzuki users forum have mentioned this problem.
2000 suzuki 1500lc intruder gas tank developed stress crack along seam of tank. Leaks fuel directly underneath operators scrotum! All model years affected. Please go to: http://forums.delphiforums.com/rlcmc/start this is an internet forum consisting of hundreds of 1500lc owners.
Fuel runs out of the tank causing a potential fire problem. I used jb weld to correct the problem. Other had have had a new tank installed which can crack too. This is a very common problem with intruder 1500 lc's.
I noticed smell of gasoline about the vehicle. Upon inspection I found a bad weld in the seam on the gas tank at the front right mounting tab. For some reason the tank seems to be under stress at that point, that combined with a defective seam weld at that location caused a leak a that point.
A recall notice(nc99-04) regarding the clutch back torque was received. The dealer informed the consumer that the motorcycle's vehicle identification number was not included. Please fill in additional information.
Consumer applied the brake pedal and the brakes failed. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the brakes needed to be replaced, and replaced them twice. However, the problem recurred.
2000 suzuki intruder vl 1500 lc pops out of 4th gear and goes into a " false " neutral. Every time I ride about every 3rd or 4th time I shift to 4th gear. This became a problem about 4000mi and continued to worsen . There is 13000mi on the bike now.
