What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
When engaging brake pedal to stop if my foot is to the right on the pedal the spongy brake pedal to continues almost to the floor thus causing me to press on the accelerator pedal causing the truck to accelerate when I need to stop, very dangerous.
The door knocked me down and pick up almost ran over me. I did a backwards summersalt to get out of the way of rolling pickup. When I was finally able to get up and get to pick up, it had slowed due to the jack knifing of the bale buggy I was towing.
On 12/17/2016 my daughter and I had a head-on collision. The passenger side airbags deployed fine and prevented my daughter from having any major injuries. My driver's side airbag popped out of the steering wheel but didn't inflate. Due to the airbag not deploying properly I hit my head on the steering wheel.
The contact stated that while driving approximately 1 mph, he noticed a grinding noise from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle would not accelerate and the brake pedal seized.
When the vehicle stopped it was still in reverse and the air bags did not deploy. The consumer stated the main issue, was the vehicle was in reverse, but the truck went forward. According to eye witnesses, it appeared her husband was having trouble with the transmission.
No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence and remained at the residence for further investigation. In addition, a local independent mechanic was contacted, and the contact was informed that the failure was possibly related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V254000 (Power Train).
Extensive rust and rot of entire frame, and undercarriage. The truck bed unsafe to walk on has several soft spots almost broken through, gas tank holder rusted out- worry about gas tank dropping from frame, tow hitch and rear bumper rot etc. Side step fell off.
The contact stated while driving 40-50 MPH downhill, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled to the side of the road.
