Integra and Type S years differ
24V-744 dated October 3, 2024 lists Integra MY2023–2025 separately from Type S MY2024–2025. Supplier/production records define population. Neither older Integra nor later years enter through the shared name.

Identify exact version and installed steering assembly. A replacement rack’s origin is not determined by body year. Wheel photos, steering-wheel position and service entries are separate observations.
How the report explains additional friction
Honda describes swelling of an improperly produced worm wheel during use, reducing grease-film thickness. Excess worm-gear spring preload also raised sliding load. Together they increased friction; possible signs include unusual noise and momentary sticking while turning.

Heavy steering warrants testing, not diagnosis from a driver’s description alone. On a damaged car, document wheel contact, visible deformation and diagnostic results separately. A manufacturing-friction hypothesis must not replace inspection of externally loaded areas.
Remedy does not automatically replace the whole rack
The dated remedy replaces the worm-gear spring with an improved part and redistributes/adds grease. It neither fixes every steering complaint by those actions nor establishes completion on a particular VIN.

Separate campaign eligibility from the actual symptom cause. If rack replaced is recorded, retain its basis and control results. A new part does not identify the removed part’s defect without examination.
What body-family research adds
IIHS identifies MY2023 redesign. Honda performed VTN2207 on a MY2023 Integra A-Spec; IIHS assigned ratings with MY2023–2026 applicability. That does not expand 24V-744 or verify steering after another repair.
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety: IIHS: 2023 Acura Integra
A frontal test cannot determine forces on another vehicle’s tie rods. Post-crash findings require own observations and relevant procedures, not transferred test deformation. No visible rack defect is not an internal test result.
How to state an unfinished finding
Separate confirmed symptom, external damage and untested internals. Complaint-onset date is not automatically defect-onset date. This article establishes neither installed-rack condition nor a causal link between collision and steering effort.
Applicability to the individual vehicle
- Integra MY2023–2025 and Type S MY2024–2025 remain separate; no older-generation applicability.
- 24V-744 is historical evidence, not current VIN completion or individual causation.
- IIHS MY2023–2026 never expands recall or repair scope.
