Rogue Sport has its own identity
IIHS dates introduction to MY2017, with airbag/belt additions or changes for MY2020 and driver rating MY2020–2022. This is a different vehicle from Rogue; other Rogue mechanisms cannot be transferred automatically.

Identify model year, equipment and actual glass/interior work. First-registration year and a similar catalog name do not establish them.
When this diagnostic branch applies
NTB19-042C dated January 26, 2022 lists MY2017–2022 Rogue Sport with lane camera. The starting condition is flashing, not steady, AEB indication or a customer report of flashing. Without related codes it directs attention to glass ahead of the camera; related DTCs require Electronic Service Manual diagnosis.

Record exact indication mode, related codes and conditions. AEB error alone merges different diagnostic situations.
Inspect glass and mounting before deciding on a camera
The bulletin addresses dirt, ice, fogging or damage in the viewing area and correct camera/bracket installation. It does not immediately replace the camera for that symptom; follow the verified branch.
Nissan / NHTSA technicalcommunications repository: Nissan NTB19-042C: AEB Warning Light Blinking
After glass damage/replacement, document clear area, repair traces and mounting check separately. An exterior crack photograph does not establish camera position. A new-glass invoice is not a test report for associated systems.
Temporary obstruction and physical defect differ
Strong light and other external factors may cause temporary flashing in the document’s scenarios. That does not justify ignoring confirmed glass or bracket damage. Separate limitation mode from an established fault.

If cleaning clears indication, record that action under those conditions. It does not automatically confirm geometry or all collision repairs. Do not conceal unperformed tests behind healthy.
Why MY2020 changes matter
IIHS bases structure on Nissan2020 and 2017 tests because structure was unchanged while restraints changed from MY2020. Shared structure does not mean identical equipment. These tests do not establish camera condition after another vehicle’s glass replacement.

Completion needs defects, procedure and control results. Missing baseline data remains a limit and cannot be replaced by the model’s crash rating.
Applicability to the individual vehicle
- NTB19-042C is a service bulletin, not a recall despite PDF metadata.
- Flashing/steady and related-DTC conditions preserved; actual lane camera unverified.
- MY2020 restraint changes do not establish repair/calibration procedures.
