What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Drivers side bottom of seat ripped, dashboard has cracked in two different places and vent has come loose and rattles. Vehicle was stationary
My dashboard has cracked in 2 different spots. Worried that will continue!
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 gmc yukon denali xl. The contact stated that he did not receive a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags).
All the sudden the dashboard started cracking in two places. One is above the steering wheel and the other is by the passenger side airbag on the dash also. It was just in my garage. Not cracked one day and started cracking the next. There was no damage done to the car it just occurred by itself.
This causes very loud rattling when driving. I am concerned it affects the quality of the airbag's ability to deploy. I am concerned that dashboard fragments may be propelled in the event of airbag deployment.
There is a large crack on the dash near the passenger air bag. This raises safety concerns with possible faulty air bag deployment and potential for flying parts with deployment. This happened over time but was noticed when the car was stationary.
The contact stated that the check engine indicator remained illuminated. In addition, the service stability track control indicated off. The contact also stated that the vehicle stalled but was able to restart the vehicle. The failure was recurring.
All of the sudden the stabilitrak system light went on followed by the truck shuddering and shaking fairly violently followed by the reduced engine power light going on and a very quick reduction in speed to approximately 35-40 mph.
