What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
When my car was about 15 feet away from the front car, I felt a sudden loss of braking power, and would have a direct collision with the front car. I immediately made a sharp left turn. My car's right front light area hit the front car's left rear bumper.
During the impact I recall my body moving forward, the seat belt restraining me, and my head continued to move forward hitting my chest. Due to the late deployment of the airbag, the impact of the airbag occurred on top of my head. I was knocked unconscious and it complicated the injuries to my neck and head.
I was stopped waiting to make a left turn when I was hit from the rear by another vehicle... My seat broke and it left me in a reclining position.

The service dealer stated that the key released out of the ignition and caused the vehicle to roll away. The vehicle struck another vehicle. The failure and current mileages were less than 170,000. Updated 7/9/09 updated 07/17/09.
Upon impact, air bags did not deploy. Another car attempted to turn in front of consumer's vehicle and hit it on the front driver's side. The contact sustained a whiplash from the crash. Vehicle was totaled. It had to be towed. Dealer said the air bags would not work if hit on the side.
Consumer's wife was seriously injured when vehicle went out of control, veered off the highway, went over an embankment into a large ditch. (nar) premature lower ball joints.
On march 10, 2004 my wife was travelling south on I-5 in tualatin, or, when suddenly the automobile went out of control and veered sharply to the right. The automobile went over an embankment, and down into a large ditch. My wife was seriously injured, and is still recovering today.
