What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
While driving 30 mph, the driver crashed into a wall and the air bags failed to deploy. The driver was fatally injured. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
The engine compartment then burst into flames and destroyed the entire front of the van. I do not know what caused the fire, but I thought I should report the incident. I have sent the van to the junk yard. I have taken several pictures of the damage and would be glad to share them with you.
Upon impact, both front seat backs snapped and collapsed backwards, causing the driver to fall backwards;his foot slipping off the brake pedal. Vehicle careened across the street onto a field 150 foot away. Driver was not injured. However, the passenger was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Chrysler voyager 2000, impact of crash caused the seat of driver to collapse onto back seat.
Upon impact, air bags did not deploy. Air bag light turned on, and recalls have been issued on this vehicle.
As a result the vehicle rolled backward, hit the consumer and rolled over her hip/thigh. The emergency brake was not engaged at the time of the accident.
Vehicle shifted into reverse by it self after idling in park for about 30 seconds, it rolled back causing the driver's door (which was open) to hit the bumper of a parked car thus damaging the door and the left front fender.
Upon impact, both air bags did not deploy. Driver was injured from the steering wheel. Dealer was not notified at this time. Feel free to provide any further information on this matter.
