What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated that while involved in a crash, the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and minor injuries were sustained. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. The vin was not available. Updated 10/2/14 updated 05/12/2015
The air bags did not deploy my daughter injured her hand and legs. I injured my sternum, bruised my stomach, and injured my right leg. We do have pictures showing that the air bags did not deploy.
Had intermitant airbag light, repaired by dealer under warranty. Dealer fixed drivers side seat belt retractor. Then had 40 mph front end crash, front and side airbags failed to deploy. Sdm has history of failure on this van. Contacted gm, they stated 'no issue - case closed'. Needs to be addressed.
Driving south on I-5, at approx 70mph, rear tires went flat. First, rear passenger tire blew to shreds and sidewall separated. Car started to fishtail and rear, driver side, tire went flat, probably rolled off of the rim.
In a low speed, low impact crash, the chest clip on the integral child safety seat came open. My son had marks on his sholders. Harmon chevrolet ordered a new seat, but the new one performed the same way. The chest strap is weak enough for my four year old to push his chest against it when strapped in and pop it open.
Symptoms similar to recall 07V349000. Smell of fuel accompanied by liquid on the ground. Inspection by mechanic indicates failure of fuel filler neck and accompanying inlet of the fuel tank itself. Unable to secure fuel filler neck replacement that fits, nor replacement fuel tank.
New mechanic assures me, " don't worry, there are many things I can try!" little consolation for the drivers behind me or for me from being pulled over by & ticketed or when I need the va state mandatory "annual inspection" sticker. They are able to get them to work long enough but again, at what cost?
Defiantly a fire hazard. Leaks when tank is more than 1/2 full. This tube is metal and the fuel tank filler tube attaches to with a rubber hose and clamp. The chevrolet dealer says the vin was exclude from nhtsa campaign id number 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage), although the failures were identical.
