What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Drove to Atlanta March 2023 to [XXX] , while driving to Atlanta on 85 I notice that my car was automatically speeding up after braking. I drove to address above pulled into drive way with my foot on the brakes the car a few feet from the garage just accelerated and I had no time to react before it was in the garage…
Glass came out of the passenger door airbag, but no glass was broken and my windows are all tinted and this was clear glass it was all over me, in my ear, scalp arms and wrists. I was hit by an 18 wheeler
My car sped up while I was driving and I could not stop it.
Driver entered parking garage, stopped, received parking ticket, arm raised on parking entrance machine, driver removed foot from brake, car began to accelerate. Speed continuously increased. Driver pressed brakes twice - no response from brakes. Driver swerved right to avoid car on left.
Had to apply brakes very hard to slow car down got close to end of ramp had to put car in neurtal and then saw the tack jump up 6000 rpm and back down to 700 rpm also at same time white smoke was coming out all sides of car. Smoke could have been from brakes or high rpms on eng. Cruise control was off.
Vehicle visibility for the rear of the vehicle is inadequate. Can not back up safely with the confidence that all is clear behind the vehicle.
