What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH and approaching another vehicle, the adaptive cruise control mode failed to operate as needed. The message " Brake" was displayed. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle did not have sufficient time to stop and crashed into a truck.
The brakes were soft and I could feel and hear a grinding noise when I stepped on the brake. I returned the car to the driveway. The vehicle was towed the same day to the dealer for service. The car was repaired on 5/23/25.
I've previously reported the CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) and RDMS (Road Departure Mitigation System) warning messages that have been appearing too frequently.
Unusual behavior with the "Driver Assistance System", specifically CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) and RDMS (Road Departure Mitigation System) warning messages appear too frequently. The first time this error appeared was when driving home from the lot after purchasing the vehicle (Bought at 56 miles).
However, today when I went to fill up my new car for the first time after 346 miles, which I thought was quite strange since I should be getting over 400 miles if this was a 12.4 gallon tank, I only was able to put in 8.374 gallons after the fuel light came on. Why is this?
