What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The hyundai genesis coupe 2011 was involved in an accident on the highway and the airbags did not deploy during the crash. Hyundai inspected the car and denied any responsibility.
My wife was hit from the rear and pushed into a tree dead center. The air bag did not inflate. She received 4 broken ribs and a broken chest bone she was making a u turn and the other car was speeding and hit her in the rear and pushed her [address] into a tree.....updated 10/19/15
The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained fractures to the sternum, a brain hemorrhage, and whiplash. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 45,000.
The brake lines and fuel lines were corroded. The corrosion of the brake lines would lead to brake failure and the corrosion of the fuel lines would lead to a fire. [dealer] dealer was the first to find the brake problem and after inspection by my mechanic, the fuel lines were also found to be corroded.
After a visual inspection, the contact observed fuel leaking in the engine compartment. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel rail after observing a crack in the fuel rail. The vehicle was not repaired.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressed. The contact firmly depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact changed the brake fluid; however, the failure recurred.
I was driving home on January 1, 2023 at 5 AM at about 60 mph on an interstate when I heard a sound come from the back of my car and then looked into the rearview mirror and smelled smoke and saw fire flames in my rear and side mirrors.
Part number 82655-2M000 door handle base broke. This makes it so the door cannot be opened from the outside. If I were in an accident and my door was crushed no one could open the other door to get me out. This same pet was in a safety recall for a different model of theirs.
