What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I did not observe a forward-collision warning or automatic emergency braking intervention. I subsequently had the vehicle examined by a collision repair facility on [XXX] and Tony Nissan in Waipahu on [XXX]. Electronic scans did not identify braking-system fault codes.
Passenger airbags didn't deploy during a head on collision. Passenger also was hit in her breast by something that came out of driver airbag. No prior airbag warnings. ThP and insurance have inspected the car.
The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The failure resulted in another vehicle rear-ending his vehicle in a collision. The air bags did not deploy. The contact’s wife did not sustain any injuries and medical attention was not received.
While driving approximately 40 mph, the brakes failed when the brake pedal was depressed approximately 50 feet before striking another vehicle. The "please put foot on the brake and press the start button" warning indicator was illuminated. A police report was filed.
The contact stated that on two occasions while making a left and right turn, the vehicle lost power and the vehicle was drifted to a safe location on the side of the road while advising others to go around her. There were no warning lights or messages.
