What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Deployed under dash airbag broke right knee tibia bone. Vehicle was stationary preparing to turn left on the intersection when the vehicle going in opposite direction collided with with stationary murano.
Severe moisture intrusion into the headlight assembly of my low-mileage (19,800 miles) 2019 Nissan Murano Platinum has caused an electrical and illumination failure, compromising critical forward night-visibility and creating an immediate roadway safety hazard.
This was the first time the parking brake had been used since the rotors were replaced. It was a hot day in the 90's and when the parking break was disengaged, the vehicle would not move. The vehicle had set for 2-3 hours with the break applied. Several attempts to move the vehicle and free the parking break failed.
My car wouldn't start one morning. All lights lit up on dash, headlights continually started flashing and fan running under hood. I had to get to work so took a Lyft. I knew older son would be home from firestation around 830. When he got there battery completely dead. He jumped the car started right up.
The paint is lifting, bubbling, peeling and flaking exposing primer and metal. This damage did not result from impact, environmental exposure, improper maintenance, or misuse. The vehicle was inspected at a certified autobody repair facility and confirmed to be a factory defect.
Both headlight assemblies on my 2019 Nissan Murano have developed water intrusion inside the sealed LED headlight housing. The first headlight failed in March 2025 when moisture entered the assembly and caused the light to malfunction.
There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the fuel gauge reading failed to function properly after fueling. The fuel gauge previously displayed an estimated range of 400 miles before refueling; however, the range indicated approximately 300 miles after refueling.
The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the steering failed to turn in the intended direction. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel independently turned to the left or to the right. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was persistent.
