What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
We had an accident on January 4. We were rear ended and pushed it to the vehicle in front of us. The truck that hit us was going about 65 miles an hour. Our vehicle is totaled. No air bags deployed and my seat did not engage.
Additionally, another vehicle hit the contact's vehicle on the driver's side; however, the air bags failed to deploy. The contact and her son were injured and received medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a repair center.
I had my seat belt on. The airbags failed to deploy and seat belt did not lock resulting in being thrown forward and impacting the steering wheel. The car sustained severe frontal damage and is a total loss from the insurance company. The car has been well maintained and was serviced by Nissan exclusively.
On May 12th, I brought it to the shop for a few things but mainly due to the battery being corroded along with a battery light that comes and goes, but also for there being a slight skip in the transmission. The car would buckle when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.
Told of a report on "car fax" that my air bag had been deployed (not true!). Does your organization track such information? This affects the value of the car damage was only a dented bumper.
When going over a curb, the passenger rear seat belt disengaged and pulled the forward facing car seat up to the side.
The forward looking sonar sensor turns off after the first 2 miles, which in turn deactivates the adaptive cruise control and the automatic emergency braking system. I have learned that this is a widespread problem on many Nissans, including the Rogue and Murano.
Residual smoke was present during the inspection, indicating a high-temperature event caused by a short circuit or component failure. Harness Integrity: The wiring harness insulation was melted and charred. Due to the extreme heat, the plastic connector had become brittle and lost all structural integrity.
