What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
No warning lights were illuminated. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and was later declared a total loss. The contact stated that two occupants inside the vehicle sustained injuries. Medical attention was sought.
As a result, the tire blew out and also crashed into another vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the software update to the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed.
Gas leak in the fuel system. Obvious gas smell when car is turned on. Because of the impending danger i have taken the vehicle to á local independent service center for evaluation. They are in the process of confirming the problem. I could not chance driving too far to the dealer because of the hazzard and risk.
The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with turbo charger failure. The contact was informed that the turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
Additionally, the contact stated that the turbo charger was engaging independently, and the check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the active suspension and shock absorbers were not responding when the contact drove over dips in the road or while turning left or right.
I have researched my 2014 Range Rover Evoque and have come upon 2 recalls. First one is recal no. 16V614000. This is where the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral as I am driving.
The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,500.
While pulling out, the vehicle stopped running in the middle of the road. On restart the gear selector went down and I was unable to switch to neutral to push it out of the way. I had it towed to landrover and they told me the cam sprocket stopper dropped onto my timing chain and made it fall off.
