What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The front window shattered and glass was in our eyes but our airbags did not deploy. We were stuck upside down my seat belt was stuck and my husband had to pull me out of the driver side window. I had to treat for tmj problems, stress and trauma in my neck and back for a few years and I still have some issues.
Drivers airbag did not deploy. The vehicle was hit in the left passenger slide door. The passenger by the left sliding door was killed. The accident occurred on 10/15/04.
When foot is on brake pedal, car surges forward, causing an accident. Dealer has found no cause for problem, which continues to occur. (date below is approximate for accident).
Also, horn does not work, remote entry on driver's side door does not work, air bag warning light stays on, fuel gauges does not work, a/c heater blink on and off, inside dome light blinks on and off, steering column freezes, cruise control works on and off.
The seat belt did not work. There was no sensation of being held back and no shoulder injury. My face hit the steering column and I suffered multiple facial fractures and cuts, requiring 25 stitches. I have permanent nerve damage on my face and lips.
While driving on dry payment applied the brakes and the abs brakes did not work. At this incident the truck had 500miles. The dealer said the brakes were fine since then the driver has to double the amount of distance between any vehicle to have enough stopping time.
The contact noticed an extensive fuel leak coming from the vehicle. The contact was not notified of nhtsa campaign number: 00v268000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence due to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 196,559.
The drivers side strut tower is rusting out, but not on the top like most of them do. 3/4 of the side of the tower is rusted and gone. The passenger side still looks good. I have gone to several shops but no one can help me.
