My attempts to address the issue began in September 2024, when I brought the car in for the High-Pressure Fuel Pump recall (NHTSA 24V528). The dealer performed a software update but declined to replace the pump. The situation escalated on January 2, 2026, when the vehicle suffered a severe loss of power.
While driving on the highway, the dashboard illuminated with power steering & lane departure warnings. Upon this happening, the power steering did fail, and would not come back on regardless of the driving mode (2022 Hyundai Veloster N).
3 separate injectors have misfired, causing very low power to the acceleration of the vehicle, and creating a safety hazard to drive. There is a misfire engine light. The dealership has inspected these injectors and determined that the OEM parts are prone to misfire.
Driving the vehicle when arriving to my destination going a speed below 10 mph, the steering became extremely heavy and an alert showed on the cluster screen stating "power steering failed". I had to exert substantial physical effort to maneuver the vehicle to a safe location to investigate the issue.
