I have opened up a case with Genesis to have the car inspected by a professional to find out malfunctioning of the rear collision avoidance assist. I had to pressure Genesis to hire a professional to inspect the car but they are taking an enormous amount of time to get back to me with an explanation.
The contact's spouse was unaware whether any warning lights were illuminated due to the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated, causing the vehicle to crash into a sidewalk and then into a ditch.
Specific issues include sudden braking events, erratic lane assist steering intervention, transmission slipping and gear slamming, intermittent loss of exterior door sensor function, failure of rear hatch access, repeated no-start conditions, dashboard warning messages, and random activation or malfunction of safety…
Driver assist systems, including lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance/braking system, and related exterior sensor systems, are malfunctioning. The lane assist system has taken unintended control of steering, and the braking system has activated without cause.
Due to icy roads, the Genesis slid into a curb at a slow rate of speed. The vehicle did not go up on to the curb and the speed was very slow. There were scratches on the wheel, but no other body damage or contact. Four airbags violently deployed in a spectacular overreaction which could have caused injury.
I experienced a significant safety issue while operating my vehicle. After initiating a turn, the vehicle's acceleration defaulted, causing it to reach speeds of 60 mph in just a few seconds. This rapid increase in speed resulted in the loss of control, leading the vehicle to crash into a guardrail.
