I was in B mode, slowed down to prepare to put the car in reverse to put my car in the driveway when the car surged forward unexpectedly and went up on a neighbor's curb, over their sewer cleanout pipe and tapped their car before the car stopped.
On July 13, 2025, as I was entering a small parking lot, my car suddenly accelerated on its own and crashed through a metal gate at the far end of the lot and then hit a large docked tourist boat. I had just turned right into the parking lot and was going approximately 5-6 miles per hour.
While backing into my garage on 2/6/2010, my 1998 volvo s90 suddenly accelerated. I realized that the car was speeding and I applied the brake. Unfortunately, the car was going so fast that it crashed into a wooden platform in my garage. The platform and my car were severely damaged.
Vehicle airbags did not deploy. I notified the volvo manufacturer and was told that the airbags was placed int he vehicle for basically decorations and not to help save lives. I had my seat belt on which was the only thing that kept me from having a serious injury. However, my back was injured in the crash.
The vehicle surged forward and crashed into the garage wall and then into the house. The vehicle, garage wall, and house were damaged. There were no injuries. The dealer has not been notified. The speed was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 109,000.
Consumer put vehicle in drive to see what kind of damage was done, and it shot forward, hitingt a store plate glass window. Insurance totaled vehicle.
