The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that her two infant children were inside the vehicle with her and that there were no injuries. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken back to the contact's residence.
My 2022 GMC Yukon suffered a complete failure and open circuit of the Fuel Pump Power Control Module, causing the vehicle to fail to start. This is the exact defect covered under GM Recall N252516900/N262558690.
Vehicle: 2022 GMC Yukon AT4, 6.2L V8 (L87) Mileage at Failure: 159,605 My 2022 GMC Yukon AT4 experienced a complete engine failure at approximately 159,605 miles. The engine seized and could not be manually rotated.
While I was driving on a highway with my spouse and children in the vehicle, the engine began downshifting, the check engine light came on, and an “engine oil hot” warning appeared. The engine then suddenly shut down. With traffic behind us, I had to pull off onto a dirt road in a rural, secluded area.
The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted after several attempts; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed and was towed to the dealer.
The vehicle was towed to a local Firestone, where the fuel pump module was replaced. The local dealer was contacted. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with GMC Emission Recall: N252516900-01; however, the VIN was not included.
No drive information center warning or check engine light, no funny noises or catastrophic banging. It just quit running. There was traffic on the highway but with my wife's quick reaction we were able to get off the highway to the breakdown apron without crashing.
The vehicle stalled while driving on a highway, was in the shop for nearly 3 months and was "fixed" with same 6.2 engine. Eight months later it stalled again was in the shop for 2 months with a new engine. I was informed that they still don't know the issue and they just put the same type of engine.
