While driving on the highway, Lane Keeping Assistance activated as my wife made room for a vehicle on the side of the highway. Ultimately, she ended up swerving into the middle lane and continued to feel as if she was fighting the car, swerving side to side, ultimately making contact with a car in the left lane.
The moose struck the front radiator, rolled into the windshield, broke the glass and dented the A pillar, and crumpled the roof a bit as it rolled back and off of the vehicle. The steering wheel was badly damaged and actually stopped the body of the moose from further entering the vehicle and potentially killing me.
The contact stated that while driving approximately 52 MPH, the vehicle drove over a small bump on the road, causing the front driverâs side seat belt to tighten and pull the contact closer to the seat by the neck after locking.
The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the turn signals, the blind spot detection system, and the side cameras became inoperable. The failure was intermittent.
For Volvo to confirm if my vehicle was impacted they performed an oil consumption test back in March of 2023 in which my vehicle failed meaning the rings still needed to be replaced. Three years later and Volvo Cars Tacoma has still refused to replace the piston rings after multiple follow up attempts.
Currently on going, second time around with high oil consumption problems. Dealer is saying warranty is holding up repairs, warranty points finger at dealership, and Volvo refuses to address the massive safety problem with oil consumption cars by refusing to fix.
