When driving my vehicle to the Ford collision center, I noticed a jerking motion when going from stop or slow mode to start. They diagnosed it as a torque converter and stated I needed a new transmission. When filing with insurance it wasn’t covered because Ford stated they couldn’t confirm it was accident related.

2019 ford edge st - using parallel park assist feature, I followed prompts on screen, the car backed into another vehicle, damaging the right rear quarter-panel of the edge. Car started running running roughly with white smoke coming out the exhaust. As since researched, it’s a known issue, the coolant intrusion into the cylinder. Repair shop says it needs a new engine.

The engine blew due to coolant getting into the engine. This happened in 2025 and I had to have the engine replaced and pay completely out of pocket for it. I see that there is an investigation into 2015-2018 Ford Edge motors. Mine is a 2019 but has the same engine and had the same issue.
