On the dark evening of 23 January 2021 a deer from the side of the Ohio Turnpike came onto the edge of my lane of roadway, did a Uturn and kicked the front fascia of my car. I slowed but couldnât avoid the collision because of NHTSA rule Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108.
During the crash, the front end was severely damaged but the air bags did not deploy. The driver was not injured. No police report was taken. The occupant in the second vehicle sustained an injured back. No further information was available. The cause of the failure was not determined.
There were no fire, reported injuries or police report filed. The contact was concerned that there was a failure with the transmission. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted in regards to the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
