When this occurs, the engine does not crank, the dashboard remains illuminated, the radio and other accessories shut down, and the display instructs the driver to press the brake to start the engine. Pressing the brake and attempting to restart the vehicle does not work.
Lane keeping assistance and automatic cruise control were active. The lane lines looked perfectly fine. A couple minutes before the accident the car left the lane unexpectedly but we were able to get back into it.
However, it frequently fails to start. The car stalls and it's difficult to turn back on. I need to turn the car off completely first, then try to turn it back on. This usually takes 10-20 seconds. The situation presents a safely hazard as I'm not able to continue to drive through an intersection on a green light.
My 2025 Honda Odyssey Touring has developed an intermittent malfunction involving the second-row passenger-side seatbelt buckle and warning system. The problem began at approximately 39,000 miles. The vehicle currently has 40,340 miles.
At a stop light, car threw a large BRAKE warning and stalled when the foot was taken off the brake. The car then had to put in park and turned off and on again. Having a car die in the middle of traffic, even when at a stop light, is not safe.
When the vehicle stopped and the engine shut off as part of the Auto Idle Stop function, the engine sometimes failed to restart automatically as expected. The problem began after approximately the first eight months of ownership and occurred multiple times before the vehicle reached 36,000 miles.
Vehicle intermittently failed to start. On one occasion following an Auto Idle Stop event, the restart was difficult (details in the "additional details" field). The vehicle did not restart as intended after disengaging the brake from Auto Idle Stop and manually restarted causing a several second delay in the roadway.
Drove over railroad tracks and the seat belts locked up on the driver and passenger. Smelled smoke right after.
